Filming Burna Boy for Apple Music Live
By Rachel Peters

Verve is extremely proud to have tech managed and facilitated Burna Boy’s Epic Concert last month with Dir. Paul Dugdale and SIFI productions for Apple Music Live.

Being the first African to sell out the 80,000-capacity stadium set a precedent for filming a spectacular moment in musical history. Verve rose to the occasion by providing a massive fleet of 30 Alexa 35s, Alexa Mini LFs and Full Frame Mini-Cams. Combining these with a broad range of FF cinematic lenses and industry-leading accessories allowed for the highest level of detail and unparalleled production value.

We also had the chance to show off the new Fujinon HK 25-1000mm F2.8 - 5.0 Box zoom, allowing for incredible shallow depth of field at long distances. In addition, Fujinon visited us at our base of operations during testing to make sure that these formidable lenses integrated seamlessly into the setup.

Verve implemented and managed RF and remote solutions with full telemetry for all cameras to the OB Truck for a live director's mix as well as in-camera recording for the final edit. Stationary cameras all carried our Live Mode Fibre infrastructure withtelemetry from the truck – including a remote camera setup 30 feet in the air!

A hand-picked team of skilled crew worked on-site providing technical assistance over the three days and actively supporting the entire production process for SIFI Productions. The show was a huge success as well as being the largest cinematic camera live show production this side of the Atlantic.
