This one-day practical course is taught by an award winning DoP and will give you access to Verve’s latest cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment, to help you master undoubtedly the most important part of a Director of Photography’s role – lighting design.

Location Sound Recording

The course aims to offer a fast-track path into the basics of location sound recording. Using industry standard microphones and audio mixers to ensure the participants know how to apply lapel/radio microphones, utilise a boom microphone properly and how to connect and configure the audio feed into several cameras including Sony FS7, FX9 and Arri Amira.

This course enables participants to learn the various software’s used for safe ingest of material including most media formats within the industry and how to correctly complete a log. The course also covers several techniques for retrieving media in the eventuality of failure alongside basic troubleshooting of the equipment. Alongside data wrangling, data management including storage calculations for different mediums is also taught.
