Yungblud’s "Are you Ready, Boy?" at Iconic Hansa Studios. 

In early March, Verve had the privilege of filming Yungblud’s documentary, "Yungblud. Are You Ready, Boy?", at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin. The film follows the British singer as he records live versions of his latest album, Idols, over a seven-day period. 

Directed by the legendary Paul Dugdale, the project masterfully blended the old with the new, utilising a mix of Arri Alexa Mini LF digital and Arriflex S16 film cameras. This approach, supported by a combination of Arri and specialist vintage lenses, created a unique cinematic magic. Verve’s expert technical staff and bespoke portable production fly pack were essential to capturing every moment of this ambitious project. 

Yungblud shared his vision for the documentary: “I wanted to make a film that truly documents where we are right now... Berlin has always radiated complete unfiltered truth every time I have visited it and Hansa Studios is fucking iconic... This album forces you to look in a mirror and question who you are without compromise.”
